Summary

A large part of the Fritz Bauer Forum’s archive collection consists of the “Bochum Political Archive”, a newspaper and magazine archive dating back to the 1960s, which was taken over in April 2022. Anti-racism, subculture, critical theories, the labour movement, ecology and internationalism are the main topics. In addition to grey literature, the collection includes posters, banners, flyers, buttons and brochures.

This involves around 35,000 media units, which will be searchable in the library catalogue. The “Political Archive Bochum” was previously run on a voluntary basis and emerged from the social movement, initiated by students at the Ruhr University Bochum. It will now continue to be made available to the general public in the Fritz Bauer Archive.

It is catalogued using a finding aid. Partial collections are digitised for users in the archive. The collection is open to the public and will continue to be added to.
