The Fritz Bauer Forum in general

The Fritz Bauer Forum is accessible free of charge during opening hours. Events may incur costs such as entrance fees; further information can be found on the respective event page.

The service area and a caféare also located in the Forum building .

The desks in the Forum are wheelchair accessible and some of them are height-adjustable.

The doors to the public area of the Fritz Bauer Forum do not open automatically; you may need assistance here.

The stairs in the building are tactilely differentiated from the rest of the building.

The toilets are located both on the ground floor and in the basement. Both floors have a wheelchair-accessible toilet. The access door to the toilets can be folded so that it opens to the side.

Lockers and a cloakroom can be found in the service area of the forum and in the staff area.

The Forum building has large glass walls and is illuminatedwith additional ceiling lights .

Both floors of the Fritz Bauer Forum are connected by a disabled-accessible lift. Both outdoor areas are also connected in this way. Alternatively, you can reach the lower outdoor area via a stair-free, slightly sloping path.

Assistance animals are permitted on the entire grounds of the Fritz Bauer Forum and in the building.

The Fritz Bauer Library

The entrance door to the Fritz Bauer Library does not open automatically, you may need assistance here. There is also no lift in theFritz Bauer Library and the individual floors are connected by stairs.If youwould like to take books from the upper two floors or the higher shelves on the ground floor, please ask the library staff.The ground floor is barrier-free.

The outdoor area

The Fritz Bauer Forum consists of the Fritz Bauer Library and the L-shaped Forum building in addition to the outdoor area with gardens. There are no steps between the individual areas.

Journey

The bus stop „Fritz Bauer Forum“ is right next to the entrance to the Forum. The „Dannenbaumstraße“ tram stop is a 10-15 minute walk away.

The Fritz Bauer Forum does not have its own car park (except for disabled and staff parking spaces). You are welcome to use the car park of Bochum’s main cemetery on the street „Feldmark“ for your visit.
