Rep. Jamie Raskin talks to Dr Irmtrud Wojak about the events in Washington on 6 January 2021 and the death of his son just a few days earlier.
On 6 January 2021, Congressman Jamie B. Raskin went to Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. to declare the election results and officially declare Joe Biden the winner of the 2020 presidential election. As the election was being counted, a mob cheered on by President Trump attempted to disrupt the process by storming the Capitol. Two days earlier, Raskin had buried his 25-year-old son Tommy Bloom Raskin. The Unthinkable is an appeal to unity and hope, but also a passionate fight for brotherhood and truth in defence of democratic values, as well as a declaration of love for his son.
