Ulrich Sander, journalist, author and, from 2005 to 2020, national spokesperson for the Association of Persecutees of the Nazi Regime – League of Anti-Fascists, tells his life story in this interview. Sander, who was born in Hamburg, talks about his decades of anti-fascist commitment and the scandal surrounding the non-profit status of the VVN-BdA. Ulrich Sander was a member of the KPD, co-founder of the SDAJ and is now a member of the Left Party, always focussing on coming to terms with the crimes of the National Socialists.
