We would like to draw your attention to the 20th joint Israeli-Palestinian memorial ceremony on April 29, 2025. Next Tuesday, Palestinians and Israelis will come together, united despite their very different histories and their own truths, bound by a shared grief and connected by a common vision.
The memorial service will be broadcast live from Israel/Palestine and organized by the Israeli-Palestinian organizations Combatants for Peace and The Parents Circle Families Forum. It takes place every year on the eve of the Israeli memorial day Yom HaZikaron. Israeli and Palestinian parents, children, siblings, and friends who have lost loved ones will stand side by side in their grief on this evening.

This year’s ceremony is once again marked by the current crisis in Israel-Palestine, which began with the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, and has since escalated into a devastating war in Gaza, claiming an unbearable number of civilian casualties. The Joint Memorial Day deliberately contrasts one-sided narratives, focuses on the suffering of people on both sides, and underscores the need for joint political engagement. As an important step toward reconciliation, peace, justice, and hope, it breaks the cycle of violence.
