Tomorrow, 17 October, will mark two years since bookseller Gui Minhai was illegally transferred to China. Two years without legal representation, without contact with his family, without consular support despite his Swedish citizenship. Gui Minhai’s whereabouts are still unknown and we still do not know how long he will be held. The vigil will take place at 1pm outside the Chinese Embassy in London to make it clear that Gui Minhai is not forgotten and that two years without contact with the outside world is two years too many for his defence of the right to freedom of expression.
