Information on

"Tradition is the passing on of fire, not the worship of ashes"

In this anniversary year, the women’s policy project group of the AWO district executive committee and the Lore Agnes House would like to take a look at the personalities of Lore Agnes and Marie Juchacz and explore what they achieved and how they (should) continue to influence us today.

For the evening, the AW has brought in Mrs Daniela Collette, who has researched the life of Lore Agnes for the Fritz Bauer Library. The library provides books, media and a specially developed interactive database that researches and brings together the stories of people who fight against human rights violations worldwide. What drives them to resist? Where do they find the strength to do so in situations where others, often everyone, fall silent and resign themselves to it? What can we do ourselves?

Tabea Farnbacher is a young poetry slamer and will perform an original text by Marie Juchacz – and a text of her own.

Registration is requested at: loreagneshaus@awo-niederrhein.de or 0201 / 3105-3 by 16 September 2019.
