Information on
In the introductory workshop we will discuss the understanding of resistance and human rights in the work of Fritz Bauer. What makes people resist, what is the relationship between resistance and human rights, what forms of resistance are there? We will analyse Fritz Bauer’s statement that there is a duty to resist when human rights are violated and what this means for our democracy and human coexistence.
Using examples, we will learn about courageous stories of resistance and survival and also gain an initial insight into the practice of library work.
Using individual (also local) stories, we will learn how to build a library of human rights and stories of resistance and survival. Participants can contact the seminar organisers in advance with stories that should be researched in the workshops. Sample stories for the workshop will be agreed at the beginning of the workshop series.
