Book launch and discussion with Ronny Blaschke

Ronny Blaschke is one of the most distinguished sports journalists in Germany. He has been dealing with social issues relating to football for many years.

In his new book „Spielfeld der Herrenmenschen. Colonialism and Racism in Football“, he has once again tackled a controversial topic that is deeply rooted in football in particular. He analyses „how much the colonial practices of that time still shape football today“. To this end, he conducted 120 interviews and spent three years researching in nine countries. Exclusion and racism in football affect all levels, whether it’s your own small club on your doorstep, the Bundesliga or world football.

Ronny Blaschke would like to talk about these issues on this day at the German Football Museum and discuss them with his guests: What needs to change in society so that the football world also manages to move away from its colonial and racist legacy?

Please register by 30 September at anstoss@fussballmuseum.de.
