Exhibition opening
Over the years, Berlin collector Wolfgang Haney has amassed almost 1,000 anti-Semitic postcards, a selection of which is documented in the travelling exhibition „abgestempelt“. Most of them date from before the First World War. They are to be understood as historical sources which, as everyday objects, provide a direct insight into the world of everyday life, characterised by prejudice and discrimination
The „Stamped Out“ exhibition shows three text panels and three revolving elements with postcards for each theme. Four text panels provide a brief introduction to the exhibition, while four others summarise the exhibition at the end. The exhibition was developed in 1999 by the Jewish Museum Frankfurt a. M. and the Museum for Communication Frankfurt a. M. as a temporary exhibition and, in a revised and significantly condensed version by Prof. Dr Thomas Goll, TU Dortmund, is being lent as a travelling exhibition by the Federal Agency for Civic Education.
