„Flower meadows and minefields. Travel Tales from Israel“ is a commissioned work by Holocaust survivor Ester Golan. „In your diary, you portrayed us Israelis as colourful and diverse as we really are. That’s how I want to see us conveyed to you in Germany, do you understand?“
Anja Liedtke worked as a volunteer for Action Reconciliation Service for Peace in Jerusalem. During this time, she had a paradoxical experience: instead of helping the victims, she was being helped. For the survivors of the Holocaust resolve the inner conflict that is passed on from generation to generation in Germany and Israel. In her free time, Liedtke travelled the country and visited the refugee camp in Nablus. In the end, she is amazed by a region that is perhaps different from what we know from the media.
Anja Liedtke will read excerpts from the book and Annette Rettich will provide musical accompaniment for the event.
