Information on
„Albert Göring? – Never heard of him. Hermann Göring, yes, I know him, but Albert? No.“ Two brothers couldn’t be more different. One, Hermann Göring, enthusiastically joins Hitler and makes a career in the murderous National Socialist regime. The other, his brother Albert Göring, despised the inhumanity of the Nazis. William Hastings Burke has followed in the footsteps of Albert Göring, who died in Munich in 1966, and meticulously researched his largely unknown life story. Albert Göring worked with the Czech resistance during the Nazi regime and saved the lives of thirty-four people by organising and often financing their departure from Germany or Austria.
Director Michael T. Wehrhan and actor Olaf Reitz turned William Hastings Burke’s book into an exciting audiobook: „Hermann’s Brother – Who was Albert Göring.“ It is important to them to tell Albert Göring’s story, because his work is in the world. However, the knowledge about it is not yet as extensive as would be desirable. Albert Göring is a shining example of courage, humanity and selflessness in times of terror and barbarism.
The audiobook and book will be available for purchase at the event.
Olaf Reitz reads and speaks – audibly in radio features or as a dubbing voice, he guides through documentaries and explains technical equipment (→ deinsprecher.de). He conceives and produces his own audio books, for example the story about the Robin Hood of the Wupperthal: Carl Biebighäuser, ‚Galgenlieder und andere Gesänge‘ / Christian Morgenstern or the compilation HUNGERKÜNSTLER (→ studio-kurzwelle.de). Together with his colleague Andy Dino Iussa, he runs the ‚Heilkünstlerei‘, where theme-based series are created (→ heilkuenstlerei.art) and can be experienced live in various formations and genres (→ literaturprogramme.de).
