Introducing the bravest library in the world Short film - lecture - discussion

With historians Dr Irmtrud Wojak and Jennifer Haas (MA), Sven Rüsberg from Bochum City Library and Astrid Thews from VHS-Bochum

In September 2019, the interactive Fritz Bauer Library went online with its stories of resistance and survival in Bochum. Named after the lawyer, social democrat and Auschwitz prosecutor Dr Fritz Bauer (1903-1968), it focuses on the story „In the struggle for human rights“, which coincides with the history of our democracy. Fritz Bauer’s courageous commitment to democracy and human rights has now been given a place in Bochum where human rights education in the media is also tangible.

Irmtrud Wojak, Jennifer Haas, Sven Rüsberg and Astrid Thews present the project, for which the BUXUS STIFTUNG has found a fascinating location in Bochum in the former Havkenscheid mourning hall, and invite you to an exciting seminar and workshop.

The event is the first in a series of workshops organised by the Bochum Adult Education Centre together with Bochum City Library on building and writing stories in the Fritz Bauer Library.
