Workshop

Sufficiency as a strategy of enough

We consume more resources than the Earth can renew – this leads to serious problems such as environmental and climate crises, resource scarcity, and social and global inequality. However, this is largely ignored, downplayed, or even fueled in politics. Yet there is scientific consensus: infinite growth on a finite planet is impossible! We must therefore urgently learn what “enough” means so that all people in the world can live well – now and in the future. In this workshop, we will learn about sufficiency as a strategy for enough. We will talk about how we can shape social change democratically, how we want to live, work, be mobile, and feed ourselves – towards a good life for all.

We will also discuss whether, why, and how sufficiency is a necessary condition for a successful democracy. Participants will

  • Understand the concept of sufficiency.
  • Hear inspiring examples from practice.
  • Exchange ideas in groups.
  • Take the next steps toward a more just world.

The workshop is being run by the Initiative KlimaGerecht Leben.
