Workshop

We consume more resources than the Earth can renew – this leads to serious problems such as environmental and climate crises, resource scarcity, and social and global inequality. However, this is largely ignored, downplayed, or even fueled in politics. Yet there is scientific consensus: infinite growth on a finite planet is impossible! We must therefore urgently learn what “enough” means so that all people in the world can live well – now and in the future. In this workshop, we will learn about sufficiency as a strategy for enough. We will talk about how we can shape social change democratically, how we want to live, work, be mobile, and feed ourselves – towards a good life for all.

The Initiative KlimaGerecht Leben (IKGL) was founded in Bergisch Gladbach in 2022 and now has active members in Heidelberg, Hamburg, Leipzig, Tübingen, and Cologne. Its diverse activities include regular open climate talks, fundraising campaigns for climate justice, the organization of various climate strikes, demonstrations and rallies, protest letter campaigns, petitions, and also committed action against all forms of right-wing extremism and racism, and much more.
