"Break the silence"

An event organised by the women’s association Courage in connection with the „International Day against Violence against Women“

„Breaking the Silence“ – two associations „Women as Victims of War“ are still courageously fighting for the whole truth to be known about the systematic mass rape of over 25,000 girls, women and men as a weapon of war during the war in the former Yugoslavia.„Breaking the Silence“ is one of their campaigns to ensure that the horrific crimes are documented, the war victims are recognised, better support is provided and the war criminals are punished.

Women from the women’s organisation Courage from Bochum report with many pictures about their trips to Sarajevo as well as about the current situation and the courage of women today.

An affected contemporary witness from Bosnia describes her own experiences.
