Book presentation and discussion
„Some, of course, must die down below…Others dwell at the helm above…I cannot dismiss from my eyelids the weariness of completely forgotten peoples…“ (Hugo von Hofmannsthal)
Reinhold Spratte reads from his book: An der Schwelle – Ein Leben
He was a young locksmith.
But since he was attached to wood,
not iron, he knew:
You have to change your life.
The story of a life –
own sense, and proud courage
(Alberus, fables)
Reinhold Spratte, a trained machinist, studied German language and literature, education, and philosophy in Münster. Until 2004, he was a teacher at Schiller Gymnasium in Witten.
