Information on
The Open Monument Day® is the largest cultural event in Germany. Since 1993, it has been coordinated nationwide by the German Foundation for Monument Protection, which is under the patronage of the Federal President. The listed former Havkenscheid mourning hall, which has since become the Fritz Bauer Library, will be open to the public on 8 September 2024 from 14:00 to 18:00. We also offer an interesting accompanying programme with short guided tours, a book flea market and opportunities to talk. We look forward to seeing you!
This year’s Open Monument Day® is taking place under the motto: „True Signs. Contemporary witnesses of history“

How does a former mourning hall become a library? Why is it a listed building? And what does the Fritz Bauer Forum actually do? The tour sheds light on the history of the site and its new use by the Fritz Bauer Forum.
