Event to mark Human Rights Day on 10 December, the date on which the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations in 1948. In 30 articles, it defines the rights to which every human being is entitled. These include the right to life, liberty and security, the right to be free from slavery and torture, and the right to freedom of religion. Likewise the right to asylum, which is the focus of the evening.
