Information on
This was the view of the lawyer and resistance fighter Dr Fritz Bauer on the failed confrontation with the National Socialist unjust state. Can Bauer’s perception and positioning as a resistance fighter still provide answers to the threatening issues of today and serve as a guide to action in defence of democracy and human rights?
We think: Yes! And we have investigated this question in our interactive research and web project, funded by the Cultural Foundation and Demokratie leben. We have edited the extensive film and source material from the Fritz Bauer Archive of the Fritz Bauer Forum in Bochum, conducted interviews and retold the content using textual, visual and filmic means.
The digital exhibition is intended to serve as a tool for multipliers throughout Germany to illustrate the importance of human rights and democracy to various target groups – in the past, but above all in the present. Using Fritz Bauer’s life and work as an example, it becomes clear how important it is to stand up for one’s own human rights and those of others and to resist the hostility of democracy.
We hope that you, as multipliers, will be able to use the interactive website in your projects in the future. We would like to introduce you to the interactive website and invite you to try out and explore the digital exhibition together with us in a small workshop. We look forward to your feedback, your suggestions for improvement and your ideas for a practical application before the digital exhibition is made available to the general public in early 2023.
Please bring a mobile device (smartphone, tablet or laptop), Wi-Fi will be available.
