Lecture and music

The importance of Hannah Arendt

Democracy as a fragile practice of acting and speaking together for freedom; everyone should practise this locally and take responsibility. Olaf Reitz will speak about this, Andre Enthöfer will provide musical commentary.

Language needs space. Body. Time. This is not a theory – this is the basis on which Olaf Reitz has been working for decades. As a speaker, actor and theatre maker, he moves between studio, stage and public space, consistently working on the margins. Not in the sense of niche, but in the sense of border space – between literature and performance, between stage and street, between voice and space – it is precisely these in-between spaces that interest him. Where language meets architecture. Where a text suddenly inhabits a street corner. Where a voice is more than just a sound. More on olafreitz.de

Andre Enthöferis a freelance clarinettist and saxophonist, „a man of good sound“, for whom the melodies are in the foreground and who nevertheless plays with the greatest possible range – from very beautiful to quite weird. And always with one hundred per cent! He wanders back and forth between different genres, in search of something new without losing sight and sound of himself. In addition to numerous projects of his own, he has been a guest musician at the Pina Bausch dance theatre and works as a church musician in Wuppertal. More at andre-enthoefer.de
