As a journalist and author, Charlotte Wiedemann knows many countries around the world, has worked intensively on „Islamic lifeworlds“ and has been repeatedly honoured for her work. In her books, she tackles some very difficult topics, most recently the Holocaust memorial. In the Fritz Bauer Forum’s „Zehn Zwölf“ podcast, she talks about her latest book „Den Schmerz der anderen begreifen“ (Understanding the Pain of Others), about victim rivalry and the different ways Germans deal with major crimes against humanity.
