Venue: Fritz Bauer Library, Feldmark 107, 44803 Bochum

As part of the interactive workshop, the team from the Reporting Centre for Discrimination in Football in NRW will work with participants to build a bridge between historical-political education, the promotion of democracy and criticism of anti-Semitism. The focus will initially be on the personality of Fritz Bauer, who will provide an insight into the reappraisal of the racially ideologically motivated crimes committed during the Third Reich. When looking at popular football today, it becomes clear that ideas of inequality, racist and anti-Semitic exclusion and the dismantling of democratic behaviour can still be seen. Based on the legacy of Fritz Bauer, it is important to raise critical awareness of the problem, which is a basic prerequisite for respectful coexistence in a society of many.
