Workshop programme for schools and trainees in the police and justice system

Not least since the terrorist attacks on Israel on 7 October 2023, there has been an increase in anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim resentment in German society. As a result, teachers at schools as well as police and judicial officers are exposed to emotionally charged situations and discussions, for example in the classroom or at demonstrations.

Cooperation partners and goals

Together with our cooperation partner New Israel Fund Deutschland e. V. (Berlin), we are developing an innovative programme for the promotion of democracy and human rights education for schools and trainees in the police and judiciary, which focuses on civil society engagement, the promotion of pluralistic perspectives and the reduction of prejudices. We want to strengthen democratic coexistence and address key challenges of our time.

Handout MODUL 1

Our guide for political education on the first module of the ‘Nothing is in the past!’ project is available here for you to download and use. Module I provides knowledge about forms of group-focused hostility and encourages reflection on one’s own position in society; it opens up perspectives on the impact of discrimination, provides basic knowledge about anti-Semitism and racism, and strengthens participants’ capacity for action and self-efficacy.
